HARI 2023

Led first double above-knee amputee to Everest summit

"I've been wanting to take people skiing in Nepal for 20 years, and finally, you will be the first."

Krish spent 19 years as a Buddhist monk in the Himalaya before joining the British Army as a Gurkha. He became one of only two Gurkhas ever to pass SAS selection — his peer was Nirmal 'Nims Dai' Purja, subject of Netflix's most-watched documentary, 14 Peaks. He has skied from 8,000m summits, led 13 Special Forces soldiers to the top of Everest, and guided the first double above-knee amputee in history to the summit. Warrior Monk isn't branding. It's a literal biography.

"Krish has undoubtedly accomplished many exceptional achievements in the military, and he has the grit and aspiration to achieve more." — CO, 22 SAS

THE GUIDE

Warrior.
Monk.
Both.

19 Years as a Buddhist monk in the Himalaya. 26 years as one of Britain’s most elite soldiers. The two identities don’t conflict – they complete each other. Now with the reputation of one of the most trusted mountaineering guides in the world, the name Warrior Monk came from his clients. The precision of a warrior. The stillness of a monk. Every basecamp morning begins with the same practice that sustained him through over two decades on the frontline: breathwork and meditation.

"Enlightenment through adversity."

THE PHILOSOPHY

_methode_times_prod_web_bin_ad550a58-f817-11ed-9be0-622d8a105167.jpg

"He is the one who took me to all the mountains around the world after my injury."

Hari Budha Magar, on Krish Thapa

Hari Budha Magar summited Everest on the 19th of May 2023 with the help of Krish Thapa. Exactly 13 years to the day after he lost his legs in Afghanistan.
